Mithali Raj becomes the first woman cricketer in the world to play six Women's World Cups

Mithali Raj, the captain of the Indian women's cricket team, created history as soon as she landed on the field against the Pakistan women's cricket team in the first league match of the ICC Women's World Cup 2022. Mithali Raj has now become the first woman cricketer in the world to play the most number of ICC Women's World Cup tournaments. However, against Pakistan, he scored just six runs in 36 balls.

Mithali Raj has become the first woman cricketer in the world to have participated in a total of six ICC Women's World Cups so far. Mithali Raj together broke the record of Debbie Hawkley and Charlotte Edwards who played five women's World Cups each. At the same time, this is also the fifth Women's World Cup tournament for Jhulan Goswami and Katherine Brunt. Mithali Raj has participated in 2000, 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2017 Women's World Cup before 2022.

Mithali Raj undoubtedly became the first female player in the world who has participated in six Women's World Cups, while among male players Sachin Tendulkar and Pakistan's Javed Miandad have played six ODI World Cups each. Now Mithali Raj has equalized these two. Tendulkar participated in the 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011 ODI World Cups for India.
