Minister’s son who is accused of Running over farms, receives Bail
In Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district, on the 3rd of October, Ashish Mishra, a ministry scion allegedly drove the SUV that ran over four farmers and a journalist at during a protest march against three controversial farm laws. Ashish, who’s the son of Ajay Mishra was arrested three days later.

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has now granted bail to the accused. This resulted in the death of eight people at Lakhimpur Kheri that day. After the farmers were run over, immense violence broke out in the district which resulted in three more deaths, including two BJP workers.
This decision has been declared amidst the upcoming elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Lakhimpur will be voting in the fourth round of seven-phase elections in UP.
