Metro pillar under construction collapses in Karnataka, woman and daughter killed
According to the information received, fire brigade and emergency personnel were rushed to the spot immediately after the accident. Engineers of BMRC i.e. Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation are also present on the spot.
A horrific accident took place on Tuesday in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. A woman and her daughter were killed when a pillar of an under-construction Metro fell on the Outer Ring Road here. It is said that an under-construction metro pole collapsed on Tuesday morning near Nagawara area of Bengaluru. This affected the traffic in the area. People are trying to remove the fallen pole, so that the traffic can be smooth.
According to the information received, fire brigade and emergency personnel were rushed to the spot immediately after the accident. Engineers of BMRC i.e. Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation are also present on the spot.
According to news agency PTI, the incident took place on Outer Ring Road near HBR Layout. According to the police, the incident took place around 11 am. The TMT rebar installed for pillar construction fell on the bike rider family when it was being installed. The height of the pillar is said to be more than 40 feet and the weight is several tonnes.
