MCD Elections: Liquor will not be sold in Delhi for 3 days, Excise Department announces Dry Day
The notification states that dry day will be observed from 5.30 pm on December 2, 2022 (Friday) to 5.30 pm on December 4, 2022 (Sunday). After this, liquor will be available in shops, clubs, bars etc. as before.

Due to the municipal elections in Delhi, there will be a ban on the sale of liquor from Friday evening to Sunday evening. At the same time, liquor will not be available in Delhi on Wednesday as well. The Excise Department of the city has announced this. Voting is to be held on Sunday for the election of 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The counting of votes will be done on December 7. That's why December 4 and 7 will be observed as dry days. Due to dry day, liquor will not be available in government shops, clubs, bars etc. During the ban, drinking and drinking will not be allowed in wedding ceremonies, banquet halls or any kind of event. In these cases, liquor has been completely banned.
Voting is to be held on Sunday for the election of 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The counting of votes will be done on December 7. The Excise Commissioner said in a notification on Wednesday that as per the provisions of the Delhi Excise Rules, 2010, it is hereby ordered that December 2 to December 4 and December 7 will be observed as dry days.
The notification states that dry day will be observed from 5.30 pm on December 2, 2022 (Friday) to 5.30 pm on December 4, 2022 (Sunday). After this, liquor will be available in shops, clubs, bars etc. as before. Along with this, dry day will also be celebrated for 24 hours on December 7, 2022 (Wednesday). There will be a complete ban on alcohol on this day as well. This closure will be applicable from 12 midnight on 6th December which will continue till 12 midnight on 7th December.
