MCD 2022 Poll Result: CM Kejriwal seeks blessings from PM Modi

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has swept the Delhi Municipal Corporation Election. AAP is going to become mayor for the first time in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party has won more than half of the wards. At the same time, AAP's lead remains in many seats. After the victory, CM Kejriwal has asked for the things given in his address at the party office.

Arvind Kejriwal said in the address after AAP's victory in the Municipal Corporation that he has given me the responsibility of electricity and water, we have fixed it. Now the responsibility of the Municipal Corporation has been given, we will work day and night, fix the Municipal Corporation, remove the problem of garbage, and remove corruption. Together with BJP and Congress, we will fix the Municipal Corporation. We seek their cooperation as well. We also seek the cooperation of the Center and the Prime Minister, together we will fix Delhi.

Manish Sisodia tweeted that heartfelt gratitude to the people of Delhi for trusting the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi MCD. By defeating the world's biggest and most negative party, the people of Delhi have made the staunch honest and working Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal win. For us, this is not just a victory but a big responsibility.

Polling for 250 wards in the national capital was held on December 4, with a voter turnout of around 50 per cent and a total of 1,349 candidates in the fray. However, the low voting turnout did not prove to be an indicator of pro-incumbency.
