Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that it is time for the countrymen to give something back to the country. The Defense Minister said this in his address after launching the website 'Maa Bharti Ke Sons' (MBKS) at an event organized at the National War Memorial Complex. He said that it is our moral and national duty to help the families of martyrs and injured soldiers, as we can never repay what they have done for the country.
Through this website, common people will be able to contribute to the Armed Forces War Casualty Welfare Fund (AFBCWF). "When we help soldiers or their families, it should not be out of a sense of charity or favor, but out of a sense of gratitude," Singh said. A senior Army official said that AFBCWF is a tri-services fund, which is used to provide immediate financial assistance to the families of soldiers, navy and airmen who are martyred or seriously injured in active military operations.
