The Omicron variant of the corona virus has gained an alarming pace in the country. On Monday, the highest number of 135 cases were reported in a single day, taking the total number of patients to 687. On Monday, Omicron also knocked in Goa and Manipur. Omicron has spread to 21 States/UTs so far.

An 8-year-old boy returned from Britain in Goa was found infected with Omicron. Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told that this boy had left for Goa from Britain on December 17. At the same time, a 48-year-old man has been found infected with Omicron in Manipur. This person has returned from Tanzania to Imphal a few days ago.

A record 63 new cases were found in Delhi on Monday, which is the largest number of new Omicron patients found in a day in any state in the country. The total number of Omicron infected in the national capital now stands at 165.
