Maulana Jauhar University case: SC refuses to hear Azam Khan's plea
The committee of MCI visited the university and submitted its report to the Centre. The central government has told the university that on the basis of the report of the MCI committee, it has been decided that medical college cannot be allowed here.

The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition filed by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan against the action of the UP government on Maulana Jauhar University. The Supreme Court has asked Azam Khan to approach the Allahabad High Court during the hearing. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal had placed the matter of 3 new FIRs registered against SP leader Azam Khan in the SC. Sibal said that there were 87 cases against Azam Khan, hardly got bail, now new cases have been made. Sibal said that many things are being said from getting the Municipal Corporation machine in the university, education of children has also been disrupted.
Azam Khan has demanded permission for medical course in the petition. Let us tell you that Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University is in Rampur, UP. It was founded in 2013 by former UP minister Azam Khan. This year, the university had sought permission from the central government and the Medical Council of India for medical courses. On May 31, the central government had refused permission to run medical courses on the basis of the recommendation of the MCI.
