Manish Sisodia's remand extended for 5 days, will remain in ED custody till March 22
The ED had arrested Sisodia from Tihar Jail on March 9. Here he has been lodged since his arrest in a case of alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22.

Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has extended the remand of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Delhi's Excise Policy case Sisodia has been sent on ED remand for 5 days by the court. The ED had sought a seven-day remand of Sisodia from the court.
Manish Sisodia was produced by the ED in the court of Special Judge MK Nagpal. The ED told the court that important information has been received during Sisodia's custody and he has to be interrogated by making him sit with other accused. Forensic analysis of data found in Manish Sisodia's email, his mobile phone is also being done.
Sisodia's counsel opposed the ED's request for extension of his remand, saying the probe agency was silent on the proceeds of the alleged crime which was at the heart of the case. He also said that there was no point in extending the custody and Sisodia was confronted with only four people during his earlier seven-day custody.
The ED had arrested Sisodia from Tihar Jail on March 9. Here he has been lodged since his arrest in a case of alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22. The matter is being probed by the CBI, which arrested Sisodia on February 26. The Excise Policy 2021-22 of Delhi Government has now been cancelled.
