Major fire in Ghaziabad's dairy farm, elderly operator and 9 animals burnt alive
Suddenly a fire broke out in the night. The fire was so strong that nine animals kept in the dairy died due to burns. The owner also got caught in the fire inside the dairy, due to which he died on the spot.
A massive fire broke out in a dairy on Wednesday night in Sangam Vihar Colony of Loni police station area of Ghaziabad. Apart from dairy owner Sukhbir Singh, 63, 9 children of buffalo (padwa) died in the fire. A buffalo also got injured by scorching. Many animals were tied in a dairy near Goldie Public School located on Behta Hajipur Canal Road. Suddenly a fire broke out in the night. The fire was so strong that nine animals kept in the dairy died due to burns. The owner also got caught in the fire inside the dairy, due to which he died on the spot.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The cause of the fire is being ascertained. Deputy District Magistrate (SDM) Himanshu Verma, who reached the spot, said that an inquiry has been set up to find out the cause of the dairy fire. He told that the fire had spread rapidly in the entire dairy and Sanjay, an employee working in the dairy, immediately cut the ropes of a dozen buffaloes and freed them, which saved their lives.
Meanwhile, Hafiz, who lives in the neighbourhood, saw smoke coming out of the dairy and raised an alarm. They started the submersible pump and doused the fire with water cannons, but by then the owner of the dairy and nine cattle had died. SDM Verma said that after receiving the post-mortem report of the animals, the revenue department would provide financial assistance to the relatives of the dairy owners from the National Disaster Fund.
