Major accident averted at Chennai airport: Before landing, the pilot saw water on the runway, diverted the plane from 50 meters to Hyderabad

A major accident was averted in Tamil Nadu on Thursday due to the wisdom of the pilot. Actually, the Air India flight from Delhi to Chennai was about to land at the airport. There were 429 people on board the plane. The flight was about to land at Chennai airport when suddenly the pilot noticed from a distance of about 50 meters that the runway was filled with water. The pilot and co-pilot immediately deferred the landing of the aircraft and diverted it towards Hyderabad. This understanding of the pilot averted a major accident.

At first the passengers were surprised by the sudden decision of the pilot, but when they were informed about the entire incident, they praised the pilot of the aircraft, Captain Mohapatra and co-pilot Raja Ponnuswamy.

A passenger R Rajagopalan wrote – Due to the understanding of smart pilot Captain Mohapatra and co-pilot Raja Ponnuswamy, a major accident was averted at Chennai airport. He praised Air India and Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia tagging them.

Tamil Nadu capital Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and some districts of Puducherry have been receiving continuous rain for the past one week. The situation is that water has accumulated in the road, from alleys to the airport and residential areas. Here the NDRF and SDRF teams are continuously running the rescue operation. More than 14 people have died, while many people are also reported missing.
