Maharashtra, West Bengal and Jharkhand have the highest dues of Coal India

The highest amount is due to Maharashtra State Electricity Generating Company. Maharashtra State Power Generation Company owes Coal India Limited Rs 2,608.07 crore. The undisputed amount is Rs 2591.45 crore.

Maharashtra, West Bengal and Jharkhand have the highest dues of Coal India

State power generation companies of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh owe the maximum amount to Coal India Limited. The highest amount is due to Maharashtra State Electricity Generating Company. Maharashtra State Power Generation Company owes Coal India Limited Rs 2,608.07 crore. The undisputed amount is Rs 2591.45 crore.

Sources said that the second largest amount is due to West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited. Coal India Limited has a balance of Rs 1066.40 crore on the company. Sources said the undisputed amount is Rs 955.54 crore. The third largest in terms of dues is Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited, a Jharkhand government undertaking. Coal India Limited owes Rs 1018.22 crore on this. This is a complete undisputed amount.

The fourth largest amount is due to Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO). Coal India Limited owes Rs 823.92 crore on this. The undisputed amount is Rs 704.94 crore. At the same time, Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company has outstanding dues of Rs 531.42 crore, which is the fifth highest amount. The undisputed amount is Rs 480.54 crore.

Sources said that though the dues of the state power generation companies of Maharashtra, Rajasthan and West Bengal are huge, yet Coal India Limited never regulated their supply and made adequate supply as per the sub-group plan and availability of rakes.
