Maharashtra Polls Announced: Ajit Pawar, Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis met on Wednesday, a day after EC announced single phase Maharashtra polls on November 20. Shinde, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar will meet BJP’s Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday afternoon to discuss seat sharing. Results are on November 23.

Javed Shroff, Mumbai Congress General Secretary, joined NCP in presence of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and state NCP chief Sunil Tatkare.
The ruling Mahayuti released a report card on Wednesday and said, “Metro 3, Atal Setu, the coastal road infrastructure projects have been done by us for the people of Mumbai. However, the MVA had kept an anti-development vision in their tenure.”
Mahayuti leaders said, “During the MVA regime, Maharashtra was at the third spot behind Gujarat and Karnataka. We are bringing more industries and projects to Maharashtra. We have provided a red carpet to all industries.”
“We have brought industries in districts like Gadchiroli which are tribal districts. Job generation is happening at a good pace as compared to the last government. Maharashtra has now become an industry-friendly state,” they added.

Maharashtra polls have begun. Mahayuti will face Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) directly. BJP wants to retain power in the 288-seat Maharashtra assembly with Shiv Sena (CM Eknath Shinde) and NCP (Deputy CM Ajit Pawar).
Mahayuti faces challenge from Maha Vikas Aghadi (Congress-NCP(SP)-Shiv Sena (UBT)) which hopes to repeat Lok Sabha performance. MVA alliance won 31 of 48 seats in Maharashtra in Lok Sabha. NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar said he won’t rest till he puts Maharashtra “on the right track” whatever be his age.
Maharashtra Deputy CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said the state needs a “strong mandate” for Mahayuti in the upcoming assembly polls.
In 2024 Maharashtra Lok Sabha results showed BJP ahead in 83 assembly segments, down from its current 103. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena ahead in 38, Ajit Pawar’s NCP in 6 and BJP ally Rashtriya Samaj Paksha in 1.
Mahayuti Alliance is ahead in 128, down from 203, and MVA is ahead in 151. Congress ahead in 63, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena in 56 and Sharad Pawar’s NCP in 32.
