Maharashtra Political Crisis: Hearing Continues, Supreme Court seeks Shinde's Response on Why didn't he go to High Court first?

The political crisis of Maharashtra today reached the doors of the Apex Court. A hearing on three petitions filed by the Shinde faction started earlier today in the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul is representing the Shinde faction. On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray has taken big action against the rebel ministers and snatched their ministries. On the other hand, ED has sent a notice to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut regarding a land scam. He has been asked to appear tomorrow.

Senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul appearing for Eknath Shinde and others stated to the Apex Court that, The Deputy Speaker cannot proceed with the disqualification proceedings when the resolution seeking his removal is pending.

Senior advocate in the Supreme Court, Kaul said, "Eknath Shinde was elected the leader of the legislature party with a majority, but the minority faction removed him from the post after a meeting and elected Ajay Choudhary as the leader of the legislature party." Senior advocate Kaul, appearing for the Shinde faction, has said that the Supreme Court had earlier said that till the no-confidence motion is decided, the deputy speaker is not allowed to decide on the disqualification petition. The deputy speaker cannot proceed till the no-confidence motion is pending, he said.

The Supreme Court has asked the Shinde faction, "Why did he not go to the High Court earlier. Senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul appeared for the 15 rebel MLAs. "The Deputy Speaker cannot decide the disqualification petition in the light of the Supreme Court's decision. He has said that the minority legislature party is taking the decision. Our houses are being burnt. Mumbai is not worth visiting right now. Threats are being given by Shiv Sena leaders.

Senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul, appearing for rebel MLAs told SC that the Dy Speaker has no authority to deal with the issue till the question of his removal is decided. What is sought to be done in this matter is undue haste, a violation of principles of natural justice.
