Maharashtra News : 5000 Doctors Start Strike in Maharashtra From Today
Doctors in Maharashtra are going on strike from today. Maharashtra State Association of Resident Doctors is starting the strike from 2nd January i.e. from today.

Doctors in Maharashtra are going on strike from today. Maharashtra State Association of Resident Doctors is starting the strike from 2nd January i.e. from today. The doctors have said that if our demands are not met that is why we are forced to go on strike. The demand of the doctors is to fill the vacant posts and complete the pending dues from 2018. The doctors further said that if their demands are not met, they will be forced to go on strike. This will affect the patients who come for treatment in the hospital.
All the doctors were protesting regarding some of their demands. But have decided to go on strike if their demands are not met. Doctors demand that new positions should be filled on the post of Senior Resident, DA should be on the basis of 7th Pay Commission, the promise of Covid service arrears should be fulfilled by the government. Doctors are on strike for all these demands.
In a letter written to the State Medical Education Minister Girish Mahajan on Monday, MARD President Dr. Avinash Dahipale has demanded creation of 1,432 posts of senior resident doctors and payment of dearness allowance pending since October 16, 2018. Central Mard President Dr. Avinash Dahiphale said that this step has to be taken to wake up the government. We had given the strike warning a week in advance. 5000 resident doctors of Maharashtra will be on mass strike from today. MARD resident doctors from all over Maharashtra including 4 BMC hospitals (Sion, Nair, Cooper, Chem) in Mumbai will also be on strike.
