Also, there is no consensus on the names yet. In such a situation, the formation of a new cabinet is being postponed.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrived in Delhi on Thursday amid speculation of delay in the expansion of the state cabinet. Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief J.K. to discuss the political situation in Fadnavis' state. It was expected to meet top party leaders including P. Nadda. Meanwhile, the hearing of petitions in the Supreme Court regarding change of government in Maharashtra continued.
The new Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde is in Mumbai. Shinde is in poor health and doctors have advised him to take rest. Shinde and Fadnavis were sworn in as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively on June 30. Shinde and Fadnavis are presently in the cabinet and apparently they are waiting for the apex court's decision.
