Mahakumbh 2025: ₹7,500 Crore Budget, ₹2 Lakh Crore Revenue Expected in 45 Days

This mela will draw around 450 million devotees in its 45-day lifetime, in one of the largest economic spurts the area will ever experience.

Mahakumbh 2025: According to the surety of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the income accrued is expected to reach $2 lakh crore after the opening, with the Mahakumbh 2025 starting on January 13th.

Revenue effect- It seems the Mahakumbh covered within 45 days will draw 450 million devotees to a region with massive economic surge in the hotel and travel industry.

If even every visitor spends ₹5,000 in a visit, the mela would easily reach about ₹2 lakh crore, set according to a CAIT estimate that also proposed generating close to ₹40,000 crore alone, especially through the local hotels, guesthouses, and lodges that will be occupied during the festival.

Also, the Uttar Pradesh government has spent around ₹7,500 crore on religious events.

According to the information published by Live Mint, a helicopter service will earn about ₹3.5 crore a day, with 7,000 pilgrims flying daily to reach an estimated ₹5,000 a trip over 45 days.

The CIAT estimated that approximately ₹20,000 crore of this trade would be associated with food and beverages. They are a huge source of income though, with donations and sales of materials like incense, lamps, and idols estimated at ₹20,000 crore going directly into commercial account.

Across various commercial ventures, huge brands put up stalls displaying their products, offering rest camps to tired pilgrims, and provide product sampling at Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.

Mega brands like Dettol, Dabur, Pepsico, and Coca-Cola and business houses like ITC and Reliance have taken advantage of the large crowds attracted by the fair to make different strategies.

Pepsico, the company behind drinks Sting and Mountain Dew, also played smart. They placed a huge 30-foot-tall glimmering Mountain Dew bottle at the airport, electrifying the area and promising higher visibility within the mela region. Ashram rest points have been made by other companies like Reliance, along the way, so that the devotees may rest and promote their brands positively.

By which 500 charging points will be set up and sponsored by its energy drink Sting.
