Madam Chief Minister poster shows Richa Chadha with AAP election symbol

Actress Richa Chadha has uploaded a poster of her upcoming movie Madam Chief Minister.

“Untouchable, unstoppable,” the poster reads as Chadha has been shown holding a broom in her hand.

Coincidently, the broom is also the election of the Aam Aadmi Party which rules Delhi.

In the movie, she is playing the role of an untouchable who rises politically to become a chief minister.

Chadha has also said that the movie will be released on January 22.

Taking to the social networking site, Twitter, she wrote, “Glad to present to you all, my new movie #MadamChiefMinister, a political drama about an 'untouchable' who hustles and makes it big in life!”

She added, “Out in cinemas on 22nd January! Stay tuned!”

The poster, which gives a glimpse of the movie, has her co-actors Saurabh Shukla and Manav Kaul on both sides. There are election banners and a scene of political campaigning in the background.

Subhash Kapoor, who has directed satirical films such as Phas Gaye Re Obama in 2010, Jolly LLB in 2013, and Jolly LLB 2 in 2017, has directed this movie.

The film was supposed to be released in July 2020 but due to pandemic and various restrictions, it was postponed then and the fresh date has been decided as of January 22.

“Happy to announce that our labour of love Madam Chief Minister has been announced. My toughest part yet, am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with particularly witty Subhash Sir and with the splendid cast Manav, Akshay Oberoi, and Saurabh Shukla,” the actress had tweeted earlier after she was chosen to play the lead role in the movie.
