An Aadhaar card comes with a unique 12 digit number assigned to each citizen by the Government of India and is required everywhere for identification. Almost all civil servants who deal with state and private corporations require an Aadhaar card, from opening a bank account to receiving benefits from social initiatives, in order to apply for a job. But what if you have mislaid your Aadhaar card and can no longer remember your Aadhaar number (UID)? Do not worry! You can still get your Aadhaar number online. The phone number must be registered with UIDAI and linked to your Aadhaar card. Your mobile phone number must also be active and able to receive SMS messages.

How to Recover Your Lost Aadhaar Card Number Online: To begin, navigate your browser to the UIDAI site at https://resident.uidai.gov.in/ Scroll down to the “Aadhaar Services” section and select Select the "Recover" tab "Lost or Forgotten EID / UID". This will take you to the next screen where you need to select 'Aadhaar No (UID)'. Enter your personal information such as your name, your registered mobile phone number or your e-mail address. on the website.Click “Send OTP” and a six-digit OTP will be sent to your phone number or email address. Enter the six-digit OTP in the portal.

Your Aadhaar number will be emailed to the phone number or email address you provided during registration. You can also print an electronic copy of your 12-digit Aadhaar number after receiving it. You will need to return to the UIDAI portal and select "Download Aadhaar". 'from the' Get Aadhaar 'section. You can enter your Aadhar number and the appropriate Captcha information and you will receive an OTP, same as the previous process.
