Lost Faith in Arvind Kejriwal: In terms of gaining more political strength, this event could set forth a major challenge for Delhi's ruling party. Bhawna Gaur, Landing MLA, put across a letter to AAP's national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, announcing her resignation from the party due to lack of confidence in the leadership as well as the party itself.
Other AAP MLAs resigning with her were: Naresh Yadav (Mehrauli), Rajesh Rishi (Janakpuri), Madan Lal (Kasturba Nagar), Rohit Mehrauliya (Trilokpuri), B.S. June (Bijwasan), and Pawan Kumar Sharma (Adarsh Nagar).

“I hereby resign from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party as I have lost faith in you and the party. Please accept the same," Bhawna Gaur expressed in the letter.

This resignation came in the wake of exiting the seven sitting MLAs denied AAP's ticket for the forthcoming Delhi elections on February 5.
Naresh Yadav was recently chosen as AAP's candidate for the Mehrauli seat but was convicted by a Punjab court in December for his involvement in a Quran desecration case and sentenced to two years in prison.

He was recently dismissed as a candidate for Naresh Yadav in the release of AAP's fifth Delhi election candidate list and replaced by Mahender Chaudhary.
In a similar vein, new candidates were fielded in the remaining six seats by the AAP. According to the list of candidates of the party, these candidates are Mukesh Goel from Adarsh Nagar, Pravin Kumar from Janakpuri, Surendra Bharadwaj from Bijwasan, Joginder Solanki from Palam, Ramesh Pehlwan from Kasturba Nagar, and Anjana Parcha from Trilokpuri.
The Delhi assembly elections are fixed for February 5, with results to be declared on February 8. A total of 699 candidates are contesting for 70 assembly seats in Delhi.
