Team India defeated New Zealand by 372 runs in the second and final test match played in Mumbai. India had set a target of 540 runs in front of NZ, but the Kiwi team could score only 167 runs and lost the match by a huge margin. This is also India's biggest win in terms of runs in Test cricket.
New Zealand had a poor start on the fourth day and Jayant Yadav got the wicket of Rachin Ravindra (18) to give Team India the sixth success. Rachin Ravindra not only saved the Kiwi team from defeat in the first Test played in Kanpur, but also played a big role in drawing the match. Ravindra and Henry Nicholls added 33 runs in 90 balls for the sixth wicket.
Jayant dismissed Kyle Jamieson (0) LBW in his very next over. Although Jamieson took a review after consultation with Henry Nicholls, it did not work for the Kiwis and Jayant delivered the 7th blow to NZ. In the same over, Yadav bowled Tim Southee (0). Jayant got his fourth and New Zealand's 9th wicket in the second innings by dismissing Will Somerville (0). Jayant Yadav took 4 wickets for 49 runs.
Along with the dismissal of Henry Nicholls (44), R Ashwin also completed his 300 wickets on Indian soil. Ashwin became India's second and sixth bowler in the world to take 300 Test wickets at home.
