Their samples have been sent for genome sequencing. Delhi Health Minister Satender Jain said that it will be mandatory for every passenger coming from abroad to undergo RT-PCR test at the airport.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya will hold a meeting with ministers of states and union territories today. In this, measures for corona testing and surveillance at airports will be reviewed. Only yesterday, India has tightened the rules for travelers coming from abroad, especially from countries where Omicron cases have been found.
The active cases of corona in the country have come down to less than one lakh after one and a half years. Today the number of active cases is 99,753. Last year on June 1 there were 97,009 active cases. The recovery rate is 98.35%. The reduction in active cases is a news of relief amid the threat of the new variant Omicron of Corona. In the last 24 hours, 9,765 new cases have been registered in the country. 477 people have lost their lives due to corona infection, while 8,548 people have defeated the disease.
