As of now there are 38 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India, including iconic landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, cultural monuments like the Khajuraho Group of Monuments and the Elephanta Caves, and natural sites like the Western Ghats and the Sundarbans National Park. These sites are protected and preserved for future generations, and their recognition as World Heritage Sites brings international attention and support for their conservation and management.
