Lionel Messi India Tour 2025: Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Delhi Visit Details
The tour will start with Kolkata followed by Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi in another whirlwind tour named GOAT Tour of India 2025.

Lionel Messi India Tour 2025: The long-awaited tour by Lionel Messi to India has gotten another final green signal where the Argentine superstar will commence his three-city visit to India in Kolkata on December 12, the promoter of the event Satadru Dutta said on Friday (August 15, 2025).
As per earlier announcement by PTI, the first leg of Messi will begin in the football crazy city Kolkata on his whirlwind tour of India titled GOAT Tour of India 2025 and would be followed by Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.
The visit will end with a meeting between the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in the 15th of December.
This will mark the first visit of the Argentine great in India since 2011 where he came here with his national team to play a FIFA friendly match against Venezuela at the Salt Lake Stadium here.

"I got the authorisation and afterwards made it official (on social media). Messi will post any day between August 28 and September 1 with the official poster with all details and a small introduction of his tour," Dutta told PTI, confirming his visit.
Dutta has spoken with the father of Messi earlier this year to bring the offer, and on February 28, Messi himself met Dutta in his home in a 45 minutes meeting.
"I explained the plan and what we wanted to do. He seemed convinced it was worth it and committed to coming," Dutta said.
His close people can be also described as the teammates of Inter Miami Rodrigo De Paul, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets among others however Dutta declined to disclose any name.
During Messi visit, he is to conduct masterclass with children in every city to inspire the young generation of the Indian football players.
He arrives in Kolkata on the evening of December 12 and he will stay there merely 2 days and 1 night during his longest stay along the tour.
His 13th of December program starts with a meet and greet session in the morning, where there is a special food and tea festival to be added.
"He's a lover of mate (Argentine herbal tea), so I am doing a fusion of Argentine and Indian Assam tea. This will be an extra addition, to be held on the sidelines of the meet-and-greet event on December 13 morning at his hotel (Taj Bengal).
"All Bengali fish, including hilsa, and sweet delicacies will be there on the platter for the food festival," Dutta revealed.
The most exciting event will be the inauguration of the statue of Messi who will be followed by the GOAT concert and GOAT cup will be played at Eden Gardens or Salt Lake stadium.
The other tourist attraction that is being added is his mural that will be revealed on the next Durga Puja where people can pin messages and draw something on the mural.
Not only will he unveil his biggest-ever statue, we will have a huge mural (dimensions of 25 feet height and 20 feet width) for him, which will be kept at strategic Durga Puja pandal-hopping locations so that all his fans will have an opportunity to paint and post messages in a nearby message box. That mural will be presented to Messi when he's inside the stadium for the GOAT Concert," Dutta said.
He further mentioned that he has short listed two three potential sites where the murals should be put, he is awaiting police approval.
Salt Lake stadium is also on list as a secondary choice in the concert which is initially scheduled at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
"We have pencilled in both venues, and the final confirmation will come within 15 days," Dutta said.
It will be a seven a side soft-touch game with Messi being joined by Sourav Ganguly, Leander Paes, John Abraham and Bhaichung Bhutia representing the Eden Gardens stadium in a celebratory game known as the GOAT Cup.
The organisers have had a sell out crowd and tickets would begin at Rs 3,500. The programme will be presided over by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is supposed to felicitate Messi on the occasion.
The ultimate concern, he said, will be security.
"The Kolkata Police Commissioner made it clear that I'm responsible for the arrangements and ensure that there are no security lapses. Messi's team is also particular about this. It's not just for him, but for every fan attending. He wants everyone to go with a happy memory and without any untoward incident," Dutta stressed.
A total of Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Delhi legs
On the night of 13 December Messi will fly to Ahmedabad which is to be attended by a personal dinner organized by the Adani Foundation.
The next stop is December 14 Mumbai where there is a meet and greet in CCI Brabourne and the GOAT Concert and GOAT Cup to be held Wankhede.
The new entry will include Mumbai Padel GOAT Cup at the CCI, Brabourne.
"Messi, being a great fan of the racket sport (typically played in an enclosed arena), will play padel along with celebrities at the CCI Brabourne, Mumbai," Dutta said.
It was reported that Shah Rukh Khan and Leander Paes are likely to take part in this with Messi taking the field in five to 10 minutes.
Maharashtra Cricket Association is also set to have a GOAT moment with Messi facing Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma in GOAT Captain moment trial as well as a Bollywood line up consisting of Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan, and Tiger Shroff.
On December 15, Messi would be in Delhi where he will first meet PM Modi, in his residence, followed by attending the GOAT Concert and GOAT Cup at Feroz Shah Kotla.
It came out that the Delhi District Cricket Association has also extended an invitation to Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill who is a huge fan of Messi a day after his third T20I of India is played against South Africa in Dharamsala.
