We all have gone through this problem of explaining a location to a cab driver, a delivery boy or a guest who can’t decipher the route to one’s location. To counter this irritation, a person found an innovative way to help a delivery man reach, using a light beacon.
The delivery person who was confused about the location to deliver the food ordered easily found his way when a man used a bright, dazzling beacon to guide him to his residence. This might have been a one-off innovation paying him rich dividends and dying out, but for social media.
Originally the person who used this ingenuity shared it on reddit, but it went viral when it was also shared on Twitter. As of the last count the twitter post has received around 785 thousand likes and over 103 thousand retweets making it one of the biggest virals in recent times.
The viral pic shows a screenshot from a conversation with the delivery man from Uber eats 'Reginald' who was confused about the location of the customer's house where the delivery was to be made. "Look to the sky. Follow the beacon," replied the person who had ordered food. The user also shared a photograph of himself holding the strong flashlight, beaming it towards the sky. "Oh my god I see it," confirmed the delivery person.
The wonderful technique of guiding people towards one's residence amazed Twitter users. Several hilarious responses and comments that followed has made this a hit on the cyberspace. One of the most apt was “hunger induces creativity”.
In recent times and more so with stricter social distancing norms due to Corona Virus induced pandemic many people have started to use various food aggregators to order their food. The new change in purchasing and lifestyle pattern is reflected in the increase in the quantum these aggregators have delivered. If this viral photo will become an example – we will see many more beacons shinning in our atmosphere.
