In the memory of Bharat Ratna Late Lata Mangeshkar, her family on Monday announced the introduction of the Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award. This year the first Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award will be given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the memory of Sur Kokila and Bharat Ratna Late Lata Mangeshkar, her family on Monday announced the introduction of the Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award. The award, which will be graced in the memory of Lata Mangeshkar and her father Dinanath Mangeshkar, will be given every year on 24th April, on the death anniversary of Master Deenanath Mangeshkar, to a person of the country who has dedicated his entire life to selfless service to the country and society. This year the first Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award will be given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After the meeting, the Mangeshkar family said in a statement, "This year is the 80th Memorial Day of Guru Dinanath Ji and on that occasion, we are going to institute the Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award. This award will be given every year to only one person who has acted as a pioneer for the nation and society.
“We are pleased and honored to announce that the first winner of this award is the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. He is our most respected leader. He is an international politician who has put India on the path of global leadership. The splendid progress that is being made and is happening in our nation in every aspect and dimension is inspired by him. He is indeed one of the greatest leaders our great nation has seen in its glorious history spanning thousands of years and our family and trust thank him for accepting this award.
