Land For Job Scam: Home Ministry allows CBI to prosecute Lalu Yadav
A senior CBI official said that after getting the approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the agency has also submitted it to the special court at Rouse Avenue in Delhi. In this way, now the way has been cleared for prosecution of all the accused along with Lalu Yadav.

A case will be filed against former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav in the land-for-job scam. The Home Ministry has given necessary permission for this. In this case, the CBI has filed a charge sheet against 16 accused, including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Misa Bharti, in October last year itself, but the approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs was necessary for prosecution because he was the Union Railway Minister at the time of the scam.
A senior CBI official said that after getting the approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the agency has also submitted it to the special court at Rouse Avenue in Delhi. In this way, now the way has been cleared for prosecution of all the accused along with Lalu Yadav.
He said that for prosecuting the minister accused in the scam, it is necessary to take the permission of the Ministry of Home Affairs, whereas the necessary sanction against the accused officials is given by the concerned department. Lalu Yadav, who has been convicted in the fodder scam, is currently out on bail. Now he will have to take bail when the court proceedings begin in the land-for-job case.
