The bail of Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case and son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, has been canceled. Hearing the matter today, the Supreme Court has ordered him to surrender within a week. The SC also said that the Allahabad High Court did not hear the aggrieved party. The Supreme Court said that considering the FIR, the side of the victim's family, and all other points, Ashish Mishra's bail is canceled forthwith.
The Apex Court mentioned five reasons for the cancellation of the bail. The Court called out the Allahabad High Court for not hearing the aggrieved party and giving the accused Ashish Mishra bail in a hurry. The Court further said that If he is granted bail, he can influence the case, and he should surrender in a week. However, if he wants to file a bail petition afresh in the Allahabad High Court, he can.
Welcoming the decision, Rakesh Tikait said that the Supreme Court does a stellar job, provided it is allowed to work. He said, 'We thank the Supreme Court for giving the right decision. There should be lobbying from the side of the government. There was laxity from his side. The government stood by the minister. The Supreme Court has made a big decision.”
The Allahabad High Court on February 10 granted bail to Ashish Mishra. Ashish was released from jail after 129 days on February 15. Let us inform you that on October 3, there was a ruckus in Tikunia of Lakhimpur Kheri during the farmers' movement. Three vehicles had gone away crushing the protesting people.
