Kolkata Doctor’s Rape-Murder: On Monday, the legal counsel, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, who is representing the side of RG Kar Hospital rape and murder victim’s parent. He had made a serious accusation against the West Bengal government.
As per the reports by ANI, he said that the state is trying to influence witnesses in the investigation into the serious crime at the state hospital in Kolkata.
According to ANI, Bhattacharya said, "The role of the CM in West Bengal is very condemnable. Whenever a rape occurs, she immediately reaches out to the victim's family, offers them money, and then claims the matter is settled. Unfortunately, she has set a 'rate card' for rape victims."

The lawyer Bhattacharya even claims that Banerjee even tries to "purchase" witnesses, he said, "She attempts to buy off witnesses, and that attempt was also made here. However, the parents of the victim girl firmly refused because they did not want to be part of the CM's game."
The father of the victim has rejected any of the compensation offered by the state, he said it because his daughter would not approve of it.
The lawyer Bhattacharya has also criticized the Kolkata Police, he said, "The police commissioner should not have held press conferences. He has proven to be completely ineffective in managing the situation. In my opinion, the police's actions following the report are far from satisfactory."
The victim’s father is dissatisfied with the CM Mamata Banerjee-led government as she is not able to handle the case of his daughter. He said, “There were three bodies at the crematorium, but our daughter's body was cremated first. The Chief Minister is talking about providing justice, but attempts are being…not satisfied with Mamata Banerjee and have refused to take any compensation.”
He added, “No results have come out of the inquiry that is being done. We hope we will get results,” the mother also said, “the culprit will be arrested as soon as possible, but nothing has happened so far.”
