Know how pensioners living abroad can submit the life certificate
A pensioner/family pensioner not residing in India is exempted from personal appearance if his/her duly authorized agent gets a life certificate signed by a Magistrate.

From 1st October, government pensioners will have to begin submitting their annual life certificates or Jeevan Pramaan Patra for the continuation of their pension. The ones who are 80 years old or above that can submit it between 1st October to 30th November. Pensioners can either submit it physically by going to the bank or getting the doorstep services. The life certificate can also be submitted online.
Pensioners who are living abroad can also do this with ease. According to the circular released by the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare, there are some guidelines for submitting a life certificate for a pensioner living abroad.
In case of a pensioner residing abroad and getting his pension through any bank included in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 the life certificate may be signed by an officer of the Bank. A pensioner not staying in India is exempted from personal appearance if his/her duly authorized agent produces a life certificate signed by a Magistrate, a Notary, a Banker.
