Ahmedabad and Lucknow, the two new teams included for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), have officially announced the names of their 3-3 players before the mega auction. Ahmedabad Team has included Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis (9.2 crores) and uncapped Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi (4 crores) as part of the team.
On the other hand, KL Rahul has been included in Lucknow with his team for 17 crores. With this, he has also become the most expensive player in IPL history. Earlier, former RCB captain Virat Kohli got 17 crores from 2018 to 2021 season. Lucknow has also made KL the captain of its team.
KL Rahul was bought by the Punjab Kings franchise for 11 crores. He was also the captain of the team for two consecutive seasons in 2020 and 2021, but both times the team under his leadership failed to make it to the playoffs and finished sixth. It is expected that KL Rahul will show a good game for Lucknow as a captain.
The Ahmedabad team has made part of its team by buying Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Afghanistan's legendary spinner Rashid Khan for (15-15 crores) and young opener Shubman Gill (80 million). The team has also made Hardik its captain.
