Khushi Kapoor on Self-Esteem Struggles: Khushi Kapoor is gearing up for her cinematic debut in Loveyapa, where she stars alongside Junaid Khan. Ahead of its release on February 7, 2025, she opened up about her struggles with self-esteem and the experience of being teased for her appearance. Reflecting on her journey, she spoke about how she didn’t resemble her mother or sister.
In a candid interview with Indian Express, Khushi Kapoor opened up about the judgment she faced for her appearance as a young girl and how it impacted her. Reflecting on her experiences, she discussed, "When I was a young girl, I was made fun of how I looked. I didn’t look like my mother or sister. Your self-esteem takes a hit when you are a young child."

Addressing unrealistic beauty standards and constant comparisons to her sister Janhvi Kapoor and mother Sridevi from a young age, Khushi said, “It’s a vicious cycle. When I was a young girl, I was made fun of how I looked. I didn’t look like my mother or sister. Your self-esteem takes a hit when you are a young child. I took a keen interest in vanity and to look a certain way and I don’t think that it is a bad thing, especially when I know these are the things people are pointing out. I am not saying that it is something that people should or shouldn’t do. I haven’t done the hundred things that people have said that I have done but it is a part of taking care of yourself sometimes. Skincare, fillers, I don’t thing these are the things a person should be scrutinised for.”

She added, “It is important to be honest. Whether you do something or you don’t people are going to have an issue with it. I was judged when I looked a certain way when I was young and I was called certain names and when I changed how I look, people had an issue with it too. You should do what is right.”
Earlier, in a conversation with Curly Tales, Khushi Kapoor shared how procedures like nose jobs and lip fillers have become normalized. “I don’t think it’s such a big deal. The main issue is that people are scared that they will get hate if they come out and admit it. I just feel like there’s going to be hate either way. People think that the term ‘plastic’ is the biggest insult you can give someone, but I don’t think it’s bad if someone gets work done and stuff like that,” she said.
