Earlier US President Donald Trump suggested that the US had no intent to kill Khamenei, "at least not for now."
"We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" he had said on Wednesday.
The Iranian missile struck the main hospital in southern Israel with the hospital later explaining the damage was "extensive" but noting there were "no serious injuries." Additional missiles struck a high-rise and residential buildings in close proximity to Tel Aviv.
