Kesharinath Tripathi, former speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly passed away.

Former Governor of West Bengal, senior BJP leader and ex-Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Pandit Kesharinath Tripathi passed away here at 5 am on Sunday. He breathed his last at his residence. A few days back, he was admitted to the hospital after complaining of shortness of breath. He was discharged from the hospital after his health improved. Relatives had brought him home. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep condolences on the demise of Pandit Kesharinath Tripathi.

Expressing condolences on the death of Keshari Nath Tripathi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and all the big leaders of BJP have expressed condolences to the family. Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote through the micro-blogging site Twitter that the death of senior politician, senior member of BJP family and former Governor of West Bengal respected Keshari Nath Tripathi is extremely sad. May Lord Shri Ram give place to the departed pious soul in his holy feet and give strength to the bereaved family members to bear the sorrow.

According to the family, his last rites will be performed at Rasulabad Ghat in Prayagraj at 4:00 pm. Pandit Kesari Nath Tripathi is survived by son Additional Advocate General Neeraj Tripathi and two daughters. He was to be admitted to SGPGI, Lucknow today itself. Pandit Kesarinath Tripathi, former Governor of West Bengal, was born on 10 November 1934. Along with being a senior advocate of Allahabad High Court, Pandit Kesrinath Tripathi was the Speaker of the UP Legislative Assembly thrice. He was also the president of the UP unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Pandit Kesrinath Tripathi was the Governor of West Bengal from 2014 to 2019. Meanwhile, he was also given the additional charge of the states of Bihar, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
