Kerala man arrested for killing his partner and daughter in 2011
Prime accused Manu alias Mahin Kannu, who was forced by the woman to marry him, killed P Vidya and her daughter, officials said, adding that Manu's wife Rukiya had helped him in the crime.
Eleven years after a 23-year-old woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter went missing in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram district for allegedly killing the two, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday traced her to the then live-in couple, according to officials. The partner and his wife were arrested. Prime accused Manu alias Mahin Kannu, who was forced by the woman to marry him, killed P Vidya and her daughter, officials said, adding that Manu's wife Rukiya had helped him in the crime.
The alleged murder took place in 2011 and a missing complaint was filed by the family of the deceased. The police closed the case due to lack of evidence. The case was handed over to the Crime Branch in 2020 as part of efforts to look into unsolved cases.
