Karwa Chauth rituals start with an early morning prayer followed by pre-dawn Sargi. This is one of the most important ritual observed by married women and their mothers in law before starting the fast.

Sargi is more than just a meal, it’s a symbol of blessings and support a mother in law gives to her daughter in law on this special day. This part of Karwa Chauth ritual is very important as it provides the fasting women with all the necessary nutrition to keep them healthy and energetic throughout the day.

Traditionally, a mother in law gives Sargi along with new clothes, matching jewellery, makeup items and other accessories to her daughter in law.
