Kangana Ranaut Reacts to Diljit Dosanjh Collaborating with Pakistan’s Hania Aamir: ‘Some Have Their Own Agenda’

Kangana Ranaut Reacts to Diljit Dosanjh Collaborating with Pakistan’s Hania Aamir: BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut has reacted to Diljit Dosanjh working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaarji 3 and said "some people have their own agenda". The film has not been released in India and has sparked a backlash in the wake of India Pakistan tensions especially after the Pahalgam attack in April.

In an interview with Times Now, Kangana said that there is no national sentiment among public figures.

"I've said enough about these people. At the beginning of our conversation, I pointed out that we need to have a sentiment of nation building - everybody is a stakeholder. Why don't we have that sentiment. Why is Diljit having his own path? Why should somebody else, cricketers, have their own path? Even a soldier has his own path of nationalism," she said.

Ranaut also said that "we must try to align everybody".

"Somebody is having this, the poor soldier is having the path of nationalism, poor politician is having the path of nationalism. Some genuinely have their own agenda. I am not saying it is unnatural, but we must try to align everybody. We must try to align, and that will happen only when we bring this idea to these politicians; it is your work," she stated.

This isn’t the first time Kangana has spoken against Diljit. In 2020, Kangana and Diljit had an ugly Twitter war during the farmers’ protest. In a now deleted tweet, Kangana had called him “bootlicker” and “Karan Johar ka paltu”.

It started with Kangana sharing false information about an elderly Sikh woman who was a part of the Farmers' Protest. In her tweet, she said the elderly woman was protesting for Rs 100 and was the same woman who was the Shaheen Bagh Dadi, Bilkis Bano.

In a reply to Kangana, Diljit, who was supporting the farmers' protest, shared a video of the elderly Sikh woman to clear Kangana's doubt. He wrote, "Respected Mahinder Kaur Ji. Ah Sunn La Ni With Proof @KanganaTeam. Banda Ena V Ni Anna Hona Chaida..Kush v Boli Turi jandi aa .."

Miffed with Diljit's response, Kangana hit back calling him, "Karan Johar ke paltu." She wrote, “Ooo Karan Johar ke paltu, jo dadi Saheen Baag mein apni citizenship keliye protest kar rahi thi wohi Bilkis Bano dadi ji Farmers ke MSP ke liye bhi protest karti hue dikhi…”.

The timing of Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3 has added fuel to the ongoing controversy as India Pakistan tensions are high after the Pahalgam attack. Diljit is facing heat from celebrities as well as fans in India. Pahalgam attack happened on April 22. India then carried out Operation Sindoor on May 7, during which air strikes were carried out on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

After that, social media accounts of several Pakistani artists including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Hania were banned in India. Many Indian celebrities including Javed Akhtar, Mika Singh among others have weighed in on the issue.
