The Kiwis won the first test played at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui by 101 runs and scored a lead of 1-0 over Pakistan in the test match series.
If New Zealand will win this second test, it will become the number one test team in ICC ranking.
Pakistan scored 297 runs in the first innings and New Zealand has scored 283 at the loss of 3 wickets at the time this news report was published. K Williamson was playing at 111.
In the first test, Williamson had scored 129 and 21 in the first and second inning respectively and became the Player of the Match.
With his 24th century, he has equalled the feat achieved by star batsmen such as Mohammad Yousuf, David Warner, and Vivian Richards.
Williamson started 2021 on an outstanding note when he was recently adjudged the ICC’s number-one ranked Test batsman leaving past two top players Virat Kohli and Steve Smith.
For the last couple of years, this honour was either with Kohli or Smith.
