Jim Corbett National Park may be renamed as Ramganga National Park
The Union Ministry of the Environment, Forestry and Climate Change has asked Corbett Tiger Reserve staff to change the name of Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) to Ramganga National Park (RNP). The Ramganga River flows out of the Corbett Tiger Sanctuary and is known as the sanctuary's life path.

During a visit to CTR on Sunday, Minister of State for Environment, Forestry and Climate Change Ashwini Kumar Chubi (KLHK) asked the CTR director to begin the process of changing the name of the protected area, according to forestry officials.
During his visit to the reserve, the minister said that Ramganga National Park is a good name for the CTR, and therefore began the process of renaming the CTR. If the Ministry of Forestry directs us to make such a proposal, we will act accordingly, ”said CTR Director Rahul Sreda.
Choubey visited CTR on Sunday to complete an organized tiger safari in Amrit Mahotsav. Once at the Dhangarhi Museum, he told the forestry authorities that CTR should be a good name and should be renamed RNP because it is associated with nature and Indian landscapes.
