Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Shot Dead, India to observe one day national mourning
As per the Officials, former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been confirmed dead. Abe was previously shot in the city of Nara, near Kyoto. From Prime Minister Modi to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar took to Twitter and mourned the loss.

As per the Officials, former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been confirmed dead. Abe was previously shot in the city of Nara, near Kyoto. The 67-year-old was shot while giving a campaign speech. According to the Police, the 41-year-old man suspect has been identified as Tetsuya Yamagami has been arrested. The accused told the Police that he was dissatisfied with Abe and wanted to assassinate him. Abe was campaigning for a parliamentary election in the Nara region when he was shot.
PM Modi took to Twitter and wrote, "Mr. Abe made an immense contribution to elevating India-Japan relations to the level of a Special Strategic and Global Partnership. Today, the whole of India mourns with Japan and we stand in solidarity with our Japanese brothers and sisters in this difficult moment."
He further wrote, "As a mark of our deepest respect for former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, a one-day national mourning shall be observed on 9 July 2022."
Sujan Chinoy, ex-ambassador to Japan said, "PM Shinzo Abe always focused on Japan's defense & security. He often spoke about the Asian 'Security Diamond' initiative, which later evolved into Indo-Pacific. In 2015, we roped in Japan as a participant in Malabar exercises. It had a shared vision of PM Abe & PM Modi."
External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar tweeted, "Deeply shocked by the news about former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe. Join so many of his friends and admirers in India in praying for him and his family."
