Jaishankar Labels Congress Allegation of Informing Pakistan Before Operation Sindoor as ‘Dishonest’
S Jaishankar was addressing the consultative committee on cross-border terrorism meeting of the Parliament, on Monday.

External affairs minister S. Jaishankar on Monday termed the Congress party's claim that he had "informed" Pakistan of India's "Operation Sindoor" as "dishonest" and "a misrepresentation of events", sources in the meeting of the consultative committee of the Parliament said.
The Congress party on Monday raised the issue regarding the minister's alleged informing of Pakistan before India carried out military strikes against terror infrastructure at the consultative committee meeting of MPs regarding cross border terrorism.

What Rahul Gandhi said?
A big controversy broke out after Rahul Gandhi had alleged in a statement Jaishankar himself had publicly admitted that the centre had informed Pakistan of the action. He wondered how many aircraft had been lost by the Indian Air Force by such information being given to Islamabad.
The leader of opposition in Lok Sabha also shared an undated video clip of Jaishankar in which the minister was also heard, saying, “At the start of the operation, we had sent a message to Pakistan, saying, 'We are striking at terrorist infrastructure and we are not striking at the military. So the military has the option of standing out and not interfering in this process. They chose not to take that good advice.”

“Informing Pakistan at the start of our attack was a crime. EAM has publicly admitted that the GOI did it. Who authorised it? How many aircraft did our air force lose as a result?” the Rae Bareli MP had asked in a post on X.
The ministry of external affairs had denied Gandhi’s allegations and said anyone alleging so would be guilty of ‘utter misrepresentation’ of the facts.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) had similarly fact-checked the video, which debunked the claims made that Jaishankar stated India, prior to Operation Sindoor, had informed Pakistan. Its Fact Check Unit, stated the minister did not state such a fact and was being misquoted.
