Jafrabad Police in North-East Delhi arrested two desperate robbers

Jafrabad Police has solved a case of robbery in which two desperate robbers have been arrested along with cash and articles that they had stolen.

On February 14, 2022, a complaint was received at Jafrabad police station in which complainant Waseem stated that at around 09:00 PM while he was returning from his work, two persons robbed him of Rs 10900 along with his mobile phone by chocking his throat from behind and fled away from the spot.

Accordingly, on his complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up. During the course of the investigation, CCTV footage of the place of the incident was obtained and examined thoroughly, wherein two persons were seen committing the crime.

“On the basis of scanning and analysis of CCTV footages of the nearby vicinity, police team comprising SI Rohit Malhan, HC Rajnish, HC Pradeep, Const. Ashok and Const. Joginder under the supervision of SHO, Jafrabad trailed the escape route of robbers and managed to identify the culprits through local intelligence after tiresome efforts of checking many suspects,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP. North East District, New Delhi, said.

He added, “On February 17, 2022, on the basis of secret information a trap was laid at main Bharampuri road near Seelam Pur, Nala. At around 07:45 PM two suspects were seen coming, who were stopped, on the instance of the informer and checked.”

On cursory search, Rs 5000 cash and two mobile phones (Oppo and MI) were recovered from their possession. On examination,  they tried to bluff the police team and could not reply satisfactorily about the phone. On checking, one of the mobile phones was found to be stolen, accordingly, they were arrested.

Their identity was established as Sameer @ Raheem @ Sumer and Abdul Zahid @ Chuha. They confessed to their crime and revealed their involvement in other cases also. Sincere efforts are being made to connect the other mobile phone. Further investigation into the case is in progress.
