Jack Dorsey’s Bluesky Social debuts on Android while Elon Musk’s Twitter withdraws ‘legacy-verified’ blue ticks
Bluesky will undoubtedly compete with Twitter, and some believe that it will even outperform the latter. The app, however, is not yet available to everyone; it is in the invite-only beta stage. In fact, till now, the app was only available for iOS.
Bluesky Social App: On the final day when Elon Musk‘s Twitter removed all legacy-verified blue ticks, the Bluesky Social app has finally arrived on Android to cause a stir in the market. Interestingly, Bluesky Social is backed by none other than the co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey.
There has been worldwide hysteria since the launch of this new social media micro-blogging site. In the year 2022, Jack Dorsey was forced to leave the board of directors of Twitter due to Elon Musk, and Dorsey is now preparing to compete with Twitter itself by launching his blockchain-based micro-blogging app Bluesky in the market.
Bluesky will undoubtedly compete with Twitter, and some believe that it will even outperform the latter. The app, however, is not yet available to everyone; it is in the invite-only beta stage. In fact, till now, the app was only available for iOS.
Bluesky Social app can be downloaded here
Bluesky Social is available on the iOS App Store for iPhone users and the Google Play Store for Android users. You cannot, however, use it until you receive an invite from this app. In such a case, you may have to wait a while before being able to use this micro-blogging app.
Bluesky was created by the former CEO of Twitter, hence its resemblance is visible on this app as well. Although its layout could be in some terms similar to Twitter, you will see many new aspects that are currently appearing better than the micro-blogging giant, and information about them will be revealed when Bluesky is fully ready.
In Bluesky, users will find elements similar to Twitter, such as grey handles with circular profile pictures, followers and the following count. On the other hand, instead of ‘retweeting’, you will be able to ‘repost’ on Bluesky.
Jack Dorsey initiated Bluesky project before leaving Twitter
If you believe Dorsey launched BlueSky Social on the market after quitting the position of Twitter CEO, you are mistaken. This project is from 2019 and was disclosed just then.
There is certainly a possibility of Bluesky competing with Twitter, especially when the latter is being called out for destructive practices under Elon Musk.
