ITR Filing: Tax Professionals seek extension on the deadline as portal face continuous glitches
Major Organizations such as Infosys among others have written to the Finance Ministry requesting an extension in the deadline for the Income Tax Returns. The e - filing portal which is used for the purpose of filing returns has been going glitchy that has made the process of the entire process cumbersome.

The e - filing portal which is used for the purpose of filing returns has been going glitchy that has made the process of the entire process cumbersome.
Various kinds of errors such as the non reception of the OTP, responses going away on their own, and various other kind of errors are popping up during the process. Due to this, the tax professionals across the entire nation are seeking extension on the deadline. The hashtag“Extend_Due_Date_Immediately” was seen trending on Twitter recently. Some organisations such as the Chamber of Tax Consultants have written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), seeking extension till March 31, 2022. However no official confirmation or comment has been made by the Finance Ministry on this yet.
Several organizations wrote to Infosys, which had in fact, set up the portal, seeking comments on the glitches. But the company did not respond regarding the same. A reply is awaited from Infosys regarding the glitches.
