Iran infuriates Europe by interfering in internal affairs, warns of retaliatory action

Vahid Jalalzadeh, chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said in an interview with the official news agency IRNA on Saturday that European countries are interfering in our internal affairs. This cannot be justified. That's why retaliatory action is being planned. He said the plan aims to impose sanctions on the armed forces of some EU countries as a tit-for-tat measure for their intrusive behaviour, Xinhua news agency reported.
Jalalzadeh said that during the recent riots in Iran, the country has been harmed by the contradictory and interfering behavior of some European countries. He added that preparations for the plan gained further momentum after the European Parliament adopted a proposal to rename Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. He stressed that the plan is up for review during an open session of the Iranian parliament. Jalalzadeh warned Europe against continuing its irrational behaviour. On 19 January the European Parliament approved a motion calling on the European Union to designate the IRGC as a terrorist group.
