Thank you Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam for reposing faith in me to lead the proud Assam Police." Singh, a 1991-batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre officer, had returned to Assam as Additional DGP (Law and Order) in December 2019 when anti-CAA protests were at its peak in the state. He was the IGP of NIA in New Delhi before being sent back to the state. were employed as He was also part of the Special Protection Group (SPG) earlier.
