The Home Department has issued a notification in this regard. Jharkhand DGP Neeraj Sinha's tenure ended on February 11. He himself had left his post.

UPSC had sent three names to the Jharkhand government. Among them were 1989 batch IPS Ajay Bhatnagar, MD cum Police Housing ACB Ajay Kumar Singh and 1990 batch IPS Rail ADG Anil Palta, deputed to CBI.
According to the preference, the name of IPS Ajay Kumar Singh was in the forefront as the new DGP. Ajay Kumar Singh has served in CID, Special Branch, Railways in the rank of ADG in the state.
The government had decided on the appointment of Ajay Kumar Singh as the new DGP of Jharkhand on Monday itself. Ajay Kumar Singh had met the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary. Since then, his name was being considered as the new DGP.
