IPL 2023: Chennai may get a big blow, Dhoni's injury is serious, this pacer is also out of the team for the next two weeks

The list of injured players of CSK is increasing day by day. England all-rounder Ben Stokes, bought for Rs 16.25 crore in the IPL auction, has been ruled out of a few matches due to a heel injury, while pacer Deepak Chahar suffered a hamstring injury against Mumbai Indians.

In IPL 2023, on Wednesday, Chennai Super Kings had to face defeat against Rajasthan Royals at their home ground. The team could not recover from the result of this match that Chennai coach Stephen Fleming has given another blow. After the match against Rajasthan, Fleming told that team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is suffering from a knee injury and it is affecting his performance.

Dhoni was already injured in the match

Dhoni had suffered a knee injury in the opening match of the tournament i.e. against Gujarat Titans. He was then seen limping during the next few matches. However, he has featured in all four matches of Chennai. CSK has so far won two out of four matches this season and lost two.

At the same time, South African pacer Sisanda Magala, who was included in the team in place of Kyle Jameson, has also been ruled out of the tournament for the next two weeks due to injury. He suffered a finger injury (split webbing) while taking a catch while fielding during the match against Rajasthan.

What did Fleming say about Dhoni?

Fleming told about the match- Dhoni is suffering from knee injury, which you can see in some of his movements. This injury is giving him problems to some extent. He has been a fitness professional. He joins the team months before the start of the tournament. He has nets sessions in Ranchi for a few days, but his main focus is on pre-season practice. However, Fleming expressed confidence that the former India skipper will manage his injury well and continue to lead the team.

Fleming looked unhappy over Magala's injury

Fleming allayed concerns about Dhoni's fitness, saying he is working his way back to match form. You can still see that he is playing very well. At the same time, Sisanda Magala had to leave the field due to an injury after bowling two overs against Rajasthan. Fleming said – again a player has been injured for us. This has happened in the second consecutive match. We are already limited in terms of players, so I would like this injury cycle to stop.

The number of injured players of CSK increased.

It is believed that Deepak has been ruled out of the team for the entire season. However, Fleming pointed out that Deepak Chahar is only out for a few weeks. At the same time, the condition of Stokes is being monitored every day.

CSK's next match against Bangalore.

Fleming said, 'Sri Lankan pacer Mathisha Pathirana had to deal with Kovid-19 during the New Zealand tour. However, he is now fine and available for selection in the team. We don't want to rush them. Not just Stokes and Deepak Chahar, CSK were hit with injuries even before the start of the tournament. Kyle Jamieson and Mukesh Chowdhary were also ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Chennai Super Kings next play against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 17th April in Bengaluru.
