IPL 2022 Hardik Pandya gets green signal to play IPL this new season

In the new season of the Indian Premier League, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was appointed as the captain of the new team Gujarat Lions, has got the green signal from the BCCI to play in the tournament. The player, who has been battling with fitness problems since the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE, has passed the fitness test. This season two new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow have been included in the tournament.

Injury-prone Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya cracked a fitness assessment test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and is now full-time to lead Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL is to start from March 26. This season the league phase of IPL will be organized in Mumbai and Pune.

The BCCI is examining the fitness of its centrally contracted players ahead of the IPL and Pandya's two-day performance at the NCA augurs well for Indian cricket.

BCCI sources said, “The fitness test is for players who have made a comeback from injury. This is a general assessment of fitness ahead of the busy IPL season. He is a vital player and it is necessary to assess his current fitness status.
