Advanced metering infrastructure is currently being put
together to ensure successful project implementation.
New Delhi : As the tendering process of smart metering programme under RDSS picks up speed, IntelliSmart Infrastructure Private Limited, India’s leading smart metering and digital solutions provider, builds a strong portfolio of smart metering projects, with a portfolio size close to Rs 20,000 crores.
IntelliSmart’s recent wins include one project each in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Bihar, and two in Gujarat.
In Uttar Pradesh, IntelliSmart has been awarded the largest smart metering project in the country by volume under RDSS. This marks a significant milestone in India’s smart metering initiatives and will provide a great fillip to the progress of the RDSS programme. As part of the project, IntelliSmart will install 67 lakh smart meters in 14 districts falling under the jurisdiction of Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.
Among other projects under the RDSS programme, in Gujarat, IntelliSmart has secured the Letter of Award (LoA) for implementation of end-to-end smart metering solutions from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) and Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL) for a total of 51 lakh prepaid smart meters.
In Assam, the company has won the LoA for 15 lakh smart meters, secured through competitive bidding, from Assam Power Distribution Company Limited. Assam is also a success story for IntelliSmart where it had earlier secured India's first competitively bid smart metering project under DBFOOT arrangement for over 6 lakh smart meters and have already achieved more than 60 percent meter installation in record time.
In Bihar, IntelliSmart has won a project to install 36 lakh smart meters for South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited.
Reflecting on the project acquisitions, Mr Anil Rawal, MD & CEO, IntelliSmart said, “From the time smart metering was conceived as an aspirational and ambitious digitalisation programme for the distribution sector, IntelliSmart has been leading from the front, working with all the stakeholders to create a viable and bankable model for rolling out this systemic efficiency programme and have been fortunate to be part of this unprecedented success story. This is one of the leading most power sector digitalisation programmes across the globe and shall go a long way not only to improve the financial and operational health of the distribution companies but would also be critical for success of large-scale renewables and e-mobility in the grid. These large projects once again reiterate the confidence of government in the capabilities of IntelliSmart in pioneering digitalisation in the power sector and becoming the most preferred digital partner for the utilities. The successful implementation of our smart metering projects, shall certainly support the country in realising the Net Zero commitments and shall also support the energy transition endeavour.”
IntelliSmart will implement all the projects under TOTEX (CAPEX+OPEX) mode as per the RDSS guidelines.
